It started at the Tourist Information Centre until we were respectfully asked to move on and find another place. Then, we met at the local skate park at each Friday night and eventually it was causing more trouble for shop owners near by with large numbers of kids congregating.
Now, we head out in a Thursday evening after Fellowship Night and drive around serving up a meal, handing out drinks and other resources we have to distribute.
We have gospel-centred conversations, encouraging the kids to consider consequences of actions, where does the gospel of Jesus fit into their lives? and other topics they wish to discuss.
Building relationships built on trust and respect with boundaries is important.
Many of the kids have previously verbalised that the streets are far better than being at home. Think on that for a moment.
Ways to Help:
- Come along
- Contribute food / drinks
- Pray for soft hearts to receive the Gospel.
- Pray for relationships to grow and develop.
