Do You See Me as a Child of the King? by Paul Strahan

Do you see me as a child of The King?

Or am I less because of the colour of my skin?

I do things different, that doesn’t make them wrong.

When we get to Heaven we will both sing the same song.

You think the way you do things is right.

Is my way wrong because I’m not white?

You think I’m different and to you I am strange,

Am I someone to love or a project to change?

God made me black, I am who He created

My worth in your eyes will not be debated.

The government had a white Australia policy

When you stole our land and made it your colony.

It would seem policy is in the church today

We all need to change and live your way.

It’s not a sin to be Aboriginal

The sin you commit is like the original

The pride you display when you look down from above.

Is disobedient to God, His command is to love.

So if you can’t accept me the way I am.

Please stay away I won’t conform to your program.

I’m being moulded and formed to become like Jesus.

I’m His to do with as He pleases.
